Maruti Fronx is based on the Baleno hatchback. The crossover features the silhouette of the Baleno hatchback with the styling and stance of the Grand Vitara SUV. In this article let’s take a look at the comparison between Baleno and Fronx.

As mentioned previously, Fronx crossover is based on Baleno. The Baleno gets a more aggressive grille and swept-back LED headlamps. Fronx features a split grille with headlights placed on the lower bumper. It resembles a lot like Grand Vitara. At the back, the Baleno gets a conventional design with slim tail lamps whereas the Fronx gets a distinctive tailgate design with a connected LED taillamp.

Moving on to the interior, both cars get the same dashboard layout. The only difference here is that different themes. The Fronx gets a burgundy-&-black theme whereas the Baleno gets a blue-&-black scheme. Both cars also share an identical list of features.

Fronx and Baleno get automatic LED headlamps with DRLs, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car tech, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Arkamys-tuned sound system, cruise control, height-adjustable driver’s seat, automatic AC, rear AC vents, auto-dimming IRVM, HUD display, 360-degree camera, up to 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP with hill-hold assist. Additionally, Fronx gets wireless charging for smartphones.

Talking about the powertrain and gearbox, Baleno is offered with a single engine option – a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine with 89 bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque. Gearbox options include a 5-speed manual or an AMT transmission.
Talking about the Fronx, it will be available in two engine options – a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine and a 1.0-litre booster jet turbocharged petrol engine. This engine puts out 100 bhp of power and 148 Nm of torque. Gearbox options include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.

Finally taking about the variants, Fronx will be available in five variants – Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta and Alpha. The Baleno is offered in four variants – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha.
