Maruti Suzuki sales breakup: Over 1.1 lakh cars sold in December 2022

India’s largest automaker Maruti Suzuki India sold a total number of 1,12,010 units in December 2022. In comparison, Maruti Suzuki sold 1,23,016 units in December 2021. Even though Maruti Suzuki was the only automaker to cross the 1 lakh mark, total sales fell 9 per cent YoY to 1,12,010 units in December 2022.
Maruti Baleno tops the charts with 16,932 units sold last month. Sales increased 17 per cent YoY to 16,932 units, up from 14,558 units sold in Dec 2021. But the MoM sales dipped to 19 per cent from 20,945 units sold in Nov 2022. Maruti Baleno is offered with a 1.2-litre NA Petrol engine and is available with a 5-speed manual and an AMT transmission. The price for the Baleno starts from Rs 6.56 lakh and goes up to 9.83 lacks (ex-showroom).
The second car on the list is the Maruti Eritiga MPV. Maruti sold 12,273 units sold in Dec 2022, up 4 per cent from 11,840 units sold in Dec 2021. But the MoM sales came down to 11 per cent from 13,818 units sold in Nov 2022. Eritiga is powered by a 1.5-litre NA Petrol engine with a 5-speed manual and an automatic transmission. The prices for the MPV start from Rs 8.41 lakh and go up to 12.79 lakh (ex-showroom).
The next car on the list is the popular Maruti Suzuki Swift. Maruti sold 12,061 units in December 2022. In comparison, Maruti sold 15,661 units sold in Dec 2021. The MoM sales also came down to 20 per cent with 15,153 units sold in Nov 2022. The swift is offered with a 1.2-litre Petrol engine that comes paired with a 5-speed manual or an AMT transmission. The prices for the Swift start from Rs 5.91 lakh and goes up to 8.71 lakh (ex-showroom).
The fourth car on the list is the popular Dzire sedan. The sales of the Maruti Dzire were higher by 13 per cent YoY to 11,997 units from 10,633 units sold in Dec 2021 while MoM sales fell by 17 per cent from 14,456 units sold in Nov 2022. Dzire too is offered with a 1.2-litre Petrol engine that comes paired with a 5-speed manual or an AMT transmission. The prices for the Dzire start from Rs 6.24 lakh and goes up to 9.17 lakh (ex-showroom).
The fifth car on the list is the Maruti Brezza SUV. Maruti sold 11,200 units of the SUV in December 2022 which is up to 18 per cent YoY from 9,531 units sold in Dec 2021. The Brezza is powered by a 1.5-litre NA Petrol engine with a 5-speed manual and an automatic transmission. The prices for the SUV start from Rs 7.99 lakh and go up to 13.8 lakh (ex-showroom).

The next car on the list is the Maruti Eeco van. The sales of the Eeco improved 15 per cent YoY to 10,581 units from 9,165 units sold in Dec 2021. MoM sales were also higher by 47 per cent from 7,183 units sold in Nov 2022. The Eeco is powered by a 1.2-litre NA Petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual. The price for the Van starts from Rs 5.10 lakh and goes up to 8.13 lakh (ex-showroom).
Maruti sold 10,181 units of WagonR. In comparison, the company sold 19,728 units in December 2021. MoM sales also fell 31 per cent from 14,720 units sold in Nov 2022. The prices for the WagonR start from Rs 5.44 lakh and go up to 7.08 lakh (ex-showroom).
The next car on the list is the Maruti Alto. Maruti sold 8,648 units of WagonR in December 2022. In company, the company sold 15,663 units in November 2022.
Talking About the newly launched Grand Vitara, the company sold 6,171 units in December 2022. Maruti sold 44,33 units in November which means 39 per cent MoM growth. The Grand Vitara is offered two engine options – a 1.5-litre NA mild Hybrid and a 1.5-litre NA strong Hybrid Petrol engine. The SUV is also offered with an AWD system.
The sales of the Ignis micro SUV grew 63 per cent YoY to 5,241 units from 3,209 units sold in December 2021. Ignis comes with a 1.2-litre NA Petrol engine that comes paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The sales of the XL6 also improved, the company sold 3,364 in December 2022. Maruti sold 2,988 units in November 2022. The XL6 is powered by a 1.5-litre NA Petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual or a torque converter automatic. The sales of the Ciaz stood at 1,154 units, sales of S-Presso stood at 1,117 units and 1,090 units of Celerio in December 2022.
